About the Department
The Civil Engineering Department was started in the year 2009 with an intake of 60 and revised with the intake of 120 in 2014. The department also offers one Post Graduate program viz. M.Tech. (Structural Engineering) with the intake of 24. The department has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation and NAAC ‘A’ grade.
The curriculum is taught by a distinguished faculty combining academic excellence and real-world experience with dedication and commitment. The entire Faculty is life members in various professional bodies related to their field of research. The high-quality research work being pursued by the faculty and students is very evident from the research papers being published in journals. Counsellors counsel the students. Counselling is done for slow learners in order to improve their performance and also
The laboratory infrastructure of the department is excellent with state of art equipments and software related to the field of Civil Engineering. The Department functions with a library with a collection of standard books and IS codes for the faculty and students to refer and enhance their knowledge. All the classrooms are smart classrooms, to conduct NPTEL courses. All the students are members of ISTE and ACCE and they are participating in various technical presentations.
The department established the “Civil Engineering Association” (CEA) in the year 2012, where the students are encouraged to develop their communication skills and presentation skills. The department is constantly encouraging the students to register NPTEL courses and value-added courses like Auto CAD, STAAD, etc.,
Industry institute interaction (III–) cell has been working and conducting workshops, guest lectures and practical demonstrations from industry experts, seminars, career guidance programs, Entrepreneurship awareness programs and also encouraging the students to get hands-on experience in the corporate world through internship projects and mini projects with reputed organizations, industrial visits, etc.
All the above practices are not sufficient to produce quality Civil Engineers to face the societal problems like environmental pollution due to continuous consumption of natural resources to produce building materials like cement and concrete etc., we produce Civil Engineers who thought of thinking about sustainable building materials, global warming and to produce durable structures to create the wealth to the society.
So.. Save trees – Save Environment,
Save Rocks – Save Hills,
Save River sand – Save groundwater,
Save Nature – Save Future.
Our Vision
