Nanosensor Research Laboratory

The recent emergence of awareness over environmental pollution and need to monitor potentially hazardous gases has been  stimulated for research and development in the field of gas sensors for the past one decade.Metal oxide based gas sensors are predominant solid-state gas detecting devices for domestic, commercial and industrial applications. The performance of gas sensors is significantly influenced by the morphology and structural properties  of sensing materials. Our aim is to develop stable, robust, inexpensive, sensitive and room-temperature (RT) operated portable gas sensor devices for toxic gas detection and also breath analyzer for human biomarker analysis.

Nanosensor Research Laboratory funded by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi is inaugurated by Dr. V.R.Reddy, Scientist –F, UGC-DAE-CSR, Indore. This laboratory is consisting very sophisticated ultrasonic spray pyrolysis equipment aimed to deposit thin films for various applications.  Apart from this, a fully automated gas sensing setup is inaugurated which is to be utilized to measure gas sensing characteristics of different materials which are in the form of thin films/powder with high resistance Keighley electrometer (6517B) with four mass flow controllers(Aalborg).
