About Centre

CMR Technical Campus had Inaugurated “Center of Excellence-Internet of Things” Lab at Room No.204, Block-D, which is an emerging disruptive phenomenon of the present trend. The main motto of establishing an IoT-Club is to provide a multidisciplinary platform to implement creative ideas of students.

It is not only useful for academic projects, but also used for implementing real-time ideas with sensors, microcontrollers, communication protocols and cloud technologies and much more.

The term “the Internet of things” was coined by Kevin Ashton of Proctor & Gamble, later MIT’s Auto-ID Center, in 1999. As of 2016, the vision of the Internet of things has evolved due to a convergence of multiple technologies, including ubiquitous wireless communication, real-time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems means that the traditional fields of embedded systems, wireless sensors networks, control systems, automation(including home and building automation), and others all contribute to enabling the Internet of things.

Fundamental components of Internets of Things

Making physical objects responsive and giving them the capability to retrieve data and respond to instructions

Enabling the data collection, storage, processing, manipulating and instructing

Communication Infrastructure

Most important of all is the communication infrastructure which consists of protocols and technologies which enable two physical objects to exchange data.

The implemention of IoT in CMRTC several workshops were conducted on IoT were large number of students tuned up for the workshop few of the students implemented their creative ideas effectively with the help of the workshops conducted . the outgoing students are working on their major projects with the help of IoT lab under the guidance of faculty.
